BLUE LOCK CHAPTER 38 – A DETAILED BREAKDOWN:

MORE

The match is over. The formula is found. But Isagi only wants one thing , more.

Blue Lock Chapter 38 is the chapter where everything exhales. The scoreboard reads Team V 4, Team Z 5. The war is won. But this chapter isn’t about celebration, it’s about what winning costs, what it reveals, and what it ignites.

THE AFTERMATH Kuon Is Still Standing There

The scoreboard says it all. Team Z pulled it off.

“Hey, Kuon! You actually pulled it off…”

But Kuon isn’t celebrating. He’s standing apart. Separate. Unsure if he’s even allowed to be here.

“What are you doing? Get over here.”

“…Huh?”

THE BETRAYAL QUESTION Forgive Him or Not?

The tension hasn’t left with the final whistle.

“Don’t worry about me…”

Raichi immediately pushes back:

“Hey, don’t go and forgive him like that, you wannabe hero.”

Raichi makes his position crystal clear. No ambiguity. No softening.

“This doesn’t change the fact that he betrayed us… and I don’t forgive him.”

THE COLD TRUTH But He’s the Reason They Won

Then comes the line that nobody can argue with.

“The truth is that if you hadn’t taken down Nagi back there…”

“…we wouldn’t have won.”

Kuon’s betrayal and Kuon’s contribution exist in the same breath. Both are true. Neither cancels the other.

RAICHI’S ANSWER A Punch. That’s It.

Raichi doesn’t forgive. He doesn’t forget. But he does something only Raichi would do.

HNNGH!! — KA-POW!

“Guh…”

“…but this evens out your betrayal, you trash!!”

“I’m gonna hate you forever…”

One punch. One settlement. Pure and brutal and somehow perfectly fair.

GET UP, KUON They Advance Together

The room erupts.

“GRAH!! You guys are cool with that, right?!!”

“Haha, no stopping him…”

And then, the hand extended.

“So get up, Kuon. You heard ’em.”

“Thanks… …Yeah.”

“We’ll advance together.”

Four words. The wound isn’t healed. But they move forward anyway.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT Final Scores. No Mercy.

ALL MATCHES FOR WING 5 ARE NOW COMPLETED!!

The numbers land cold and final:

Team V, 9 points, +14 point diff. First place. Team Z, 7 points, -2 point diff. Second place. Teams W, Y, and X — eliminated. Dead zone.

“In first place, Team V, eleven players…” “In second place, Team Z, eleven players…”

THE SURVIVORS FROM THE DEAD Three Players Pull Through

Even from the eliminated teams, three top scorers survive:

Junichi Wanima — Team W — 6 goals. Ikki Niko — Team Y — 4 goals. Shoei Barou — Team X — 10 goals.

Blue Lock doesn’t waste talent. Even in defeat, the best are kept.

FIRST SELECTION: CLEAR They Made It

“The aforementioned 25 players… from Blue Lock Wing 5… have cleared the first selection round!!!!”

“WOOOOO!!”

“We… …managed to survive!!!”

Twenty-five players. One stage done. The next one waiting.

THE VICTORY FEAST Team Z Finally Breathes

Back in the Team Z room, chaos. The good kind.

“Quit playing around and help set up our victory feast!!” “I told you to put away those futons!!” “Hey, quit eating the food, Naruhaya!”

For one night, these boys aren’t competitors. They’re just kids who survived something impossible together.

ISAGI AND BACHIRA The Quiet Conversation

In the dining hall, just the two of them.

“Thanks for that final pass, Bachira! I couldn’t have done it without you!”

Bachira shrugs it off immediately.

“I wasn’t the amazing one. What are you talking about? That was your goal, Isagi.”

Then, something sharper:

“You… figured out something, didn’t you? I can tell, you know.”

THE FORMULA EXPLAINED Isagi Names His Weapon

Isagi finally says it out loud. All of it.

“Even if I use my spatial awareness to predict what’ll happen on the field… if I trap in front of the goal and give the opponent time to respond… then I just cancel out the advantage I gained through my prediction.”

Trapping was the enemy. The very thing that slowed him down and let opponents catch up.

“But when I remembered the goal I made… I figured it out.”

THE EQUATION This Is Who Isagi Is

It lands on the page like a revelation:

POSITIONING BASED ON SPATIAL AWARENESS × DIRECT SHOT = YOICHI ISAGI’S GOAL FORMULA

“I took the talent I used intuitively… and turned it into a formula I understand!”

“That’s why I feel like… my time as a striker is really just beginning!!”

BACHIRA APPROVES Egotist. Good.

Bachira’s response is instant and perfect.

“That’s a great look! Real egotistical.”

Isagi stumbles, “I think I got a little carried away… ah, uh… sorry.”

And Bachira fires back:

“Egotist! Keep making me excited!”

“Yeah… you too!”

Then, high five attempt. Fake-out chop. THWACK. “Ow!”

These two. Always these two.

THE ONES LEAVING Blue Lock Ends Dreams

And then the tone shifts completely.

Players from the disqualified teams walk past. Toward the EXIT.

“The ones who lose are forced to leave Blue Lock…” “It’s all over for them…”

One voice breaks through the silence:

“My dream was… to represent Japan…” “Dammit… dammit…!!”

Winning feels different when you can see what losing costs.

NIKO APPEARS A Rival Comes to Say Something

TEAM Y — IKKI NIKO.

“It’s been a while.”

He survived too. Top scorer of his team. And he came specifically to find Isagi.

“I came here to tell you something.”

“Isagi-kun… Congrats.”

THE CONFESSION Isagi’s Goal Changed Him

Niko says it plainly, without flinching:

“It was thanks to your goal… that I’m still in Blue Lock.”

“In the game against you guys… your goal opened my eyes.”

“Ever since then, I’ve stopped holding back and passing to others… and started scoring my own goals.”

One goal. One moment. It rewired how Niko plays entirely.

And then, the declaration:

“I won’t lose next time. I’m going to crush you.”

ISAGI FIRES BACK The Rivals Acknowledge Each Other

Isagi doesn’t flinch. He gives it straight back.

“The reason I’m here, too… is because you were in that game back then, Niko.”

“Bring it on anytime.”

“I’ll win next time, too.”

Niko’s reply, “Whatever…”, and he walks away.

Bachira watches and says it perfectly:

“How many rivals do you have? You’re getting popular, Isagi.”

THE REALIZATION Goals Are Contagious

Isagi sees it now. What his goals are doing beyond the scoreboard.

“My goals… are influencing people…”

“…and they’re giving others… the energy to keep fighting…”

“They’re ending some people’s dreams…”

And it doesn’t make him cautious. It makes him hungry.

MORE The Chapter’s Title. Its Entire Point.

The page fills with one face. One thought. Everything Isagi is.

“I WANT TO WIN MORE!!”

“MORE!!!…”

That’s the chapter. That’s the name. That’s Isagi, awake, alive, and nowhere near finished.

THE VICTORY THAT ENDS IN SLEEP They Earned This

That night, food untouched, futons everywhere, Team Z passed out cold.

Someone mutters in their sleep:

“Pass the ball… …to me…”

“…let our victory soak in…”

“…and we slept like babies.”

YOICHI ISAGI — 2 GOALS TEAM Z ADVANCES TO SECOND SELECTION ROUND

BONUS CHAPTER — THE WANIMA BROTHERS A Farewell in Rough Sketches

Keisuke Wanima reaches the EXIT.

“This is as far as I go.” “Bye bye, big bro.”

His brother Junichi, sobbing, barely holding it together, tries to make it lighter:

“After you become the world’s best striker… maybe I can make a living impersonating you on TV.” “I thought my stage name could be ‘Keisuke Davidson.'”

And then the goodbye that hurts most:

“Well, see ya, big bro. Make sure you survive.”

A hand grips tight. A figure stands alone at the EXIT.

And Junichi, Team W, 6 goals, still alive in Blue Lock, turns back toward the future with one last vow:

“…all the bastards who separated us! That’s what I say…” “Leave it to me, Keisuke…” “I’m gonna crush…”

Then, a surprise. He can actually talk normally.

“?! Huh? He… …can actually talk normally?!”

“What a weirdo! He’s so scary…”

GLARE. HNGH?!

Blue Lock keeps its survivors. And the survivors keep their reasons.

Continue to Chapter 39 → Team Z cleared the first selection. Now 25 players enter the next stage, and nothing about what comes next will look like anything they’ve faced before.
